Program Objective:
Universal and Inclusive Design Kitchen
For this group project, we applied Universal and Inclusive Design principles to create a kitchen that caters to diverse user needs. We conducted thorough research and engaged in critical thinking to develop an optimal design that ensures accessibility and functionality for all users.
Included in this assignment are potential challenges, real-world examples of design solutions, and product selections.
Gather and apply human-centered evidence, interpret data and research, and use insights from human perception, behavior, ergonomics, and wayfinding to inform design solutions.
ADA Compliant Retail Store
For this project, I applied ADA guidelines to design a retail store of my choice. I created a candle-making store called The Scented Earth. This project was selected for display in the FACS department at Olivet Nazarene University as part of a showcase for current and prospective students.
Included in the assignment is the floor plan, an ADA compliance statement, and visual renderings of the store design.
Gather and apply human-centered evidence, interpret data and research, and use insights from human perception, behavior, ergonomics, and wayfinding to inform design solutions.

ADA Around Me
Addressing the Questions:
Are the buildings around me, design-wise, truly accessible for everyone? What changes might they need? How can you advocate for those changes?
ADAAG Scavenger Hunt
This paper examines the buildings at Olivet Nazarene University in terms of their compliance with accessibility guidelines. It references relevant codes and includes real photos of campus examples to illustrate the application of these standards.
Program Objectives Include:
Express ideas and rationale in written communication.
